Welcome to Faces of GM

We at General Motors have learned a lot over the last year or so. One thing that stands out is many folks think of GM as a nameless, faceless corporation.
But in reality, the company is full of people who are passionate about quality, the environment, safety and beautiful design. They work in offices, in labs, and on the line, all over the country, and their job is to elevate every vehicle in our lineup to best in class.
We’ve been given a rare second chance at GM, and we want you to know we appreciate it, and we get it … we’ve listened to the criticism, and while it was painful at times, we know we need to change, and we’re doing it.
Skeptical? Fair enough. We only ask that you keep an open mind.
Before we go any further, allow us to introduce ourselves. We’re three women who work in GM Communications, at our Detroit headquarters, and part of our jobs is to share these stories about our employees, our dealers — and our customers — with you.
So, c’mon into the GM “family room,” put your feet up and stay as long as you’d like. While you’re here, feel free to offer up your thoughts and commments — we want to hear from you. Thanks for stopping by!

Great job, ladies!!!
I know this will be a popular site for people to learn more about the REAL GM! A lot of people I work with in the Flint area are champing at the bit to tell their stories. There is considerable pride among the GM workers who build engines, transmission parts or robotic weld tool cells. They want GM to be a success and they want our customers to be happy with the cars, trucks and crossovers they drive.
Good luck!!

This is such a great idea! It’s so interesting to learn about the people behind the company. I can’t wait to see how this blog evolves.

My 1st car was a 1968 Pontiac GTO which is unusual in my day where FORD, Chevy, and Mopar had very loyal followings in my neighborhood. I was a FORD fan, but I’ve been converted over time as quality steadily improved. It’s not about the initial quality, but will the knobs fall off as the vehicle ages like on my GTO and 78 Grand Prix. GM is on track now and I am finally excited about a car again. The Camaro is hot. If the quality is there, so am I. I see lots of cars, and while I think Chrysler styling is nice, the cars feel like plastic toys inside. Quality shows, just like the lack there of!
Good work!

Glad you share our enthusiam for the Camaro!
Quality has been our focus throughout the vehicle’s development. We chose parts for the Camaro based on their styling, cost, but most important of all – quality. Reviews and deep dives on parts and vehicle integration were held on this program from inception and are on going today…..(just got out of a product improvement meeting). We have been running extensive long term durability testing on the Camaro for years and have made the necessary changes to address both initial and long term/durability issues.

Hey, you guys are great, but what about the 2010 Buick LaCrosse? The plant is in Fairfax, Kansas. So why not post a face from that plant? The quality manager is David (aka Dave) Robinson. HE works really hard to get the Buick working well.

Friday, when I arrived @ work, there was a small crowd gathered in the parking lot.. I , trying not to be nosey, observed one of my team leads in the mix and knew I would get the scoop later. Well, Gary came over to my desk later and, of course I asked what the draw was for the crowd. He launched into the most excited review of the Silver Camaro that “___” had just purchased. Wanted me to come to the window to see “the sweetest car on the road”….his words were..”gotta have it, gotta have it”…so of course, the faces of GM got shot to his email…. I enjoyed the gaping mouth.. Camaro # 3 in our complex….rave reviews from all…and one more proud owner! GO GM!
