About Us

Who are we, and what’s the blog about?

First, what should you expect from the Faces of GM blog? Think of it as a place to learn more about the people behind the headlines at GM; the people who design, engineer and build our cars and trucks, and who develop solutions to technology challenges. We’ll post short stories about our colleagues, and our dealers and customers, link to news stories about them, and post amateur and professional videos.

And us? Well, we’re three women who work for GM Communications in Detroit. Part of our job is to share these stories, and how their work changes all of our lives in ways big and small. Allow us to introduce ourselves:

Jordana
Jordana

Hi, I’m Jordana. I’ve been part of the GM family for five years. Prior to moving to Detroit, I lived and worked in Toronto – one of my favourite cities! I’m a self-diagnosed cookbook junkie who recently started a food blog (http://menumaniac.blogspot.com). My favourite cookbook authors are Jamie Oliver and Bonnie Stern. Because I eat a lot, I also enjoy strenuous sports like Pilates and walking my dog, a goldendoodle rescue.

Maria
Maria

I’m Maria, and have been at GM for almost four years. My hobbies also include food blogging (http://fresheats.blogspot.com), as well as cooking, reading, gardening, travel, yoga and running. My husband is the editor of AutoWeek, so cars are apparently in our blood. We have two sons and a daughter.

Mary Ann
Mary Ann

I’m Mary Ann. I’ve worked in the automotive business for almost 33 years and am currently in internal communications. Many of those years were spent in manufacturing, where everything you do is based on giving your customer the best product possible. I grew up working in my dad’s grocery store – Murano’s Market, so I came to understand what it meant to make the customer happy at a very early age. My heritage is Italian, so I too am passionate about food and a good wine.

We welcome feedback and constructive criticism, but keep in mind that the hardworking folks that we’ve profiled have volunteered their time… please, no profanity or personal attacks.

We’re excited about bringing Faces of GM to life. Hope you enjoy it!
